Our Commitment
Embassy Row Project is committed to ensuring that the Diplomatic Initiative Design Studio platform at embassyrowproject.ai is accessible to all users, including individuals with disabilities. We strive to provide an inclusive digital experience that meets or exceeds the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at the AA conformance level. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and we continuously work to improve the usability of our platform for all visitors.
Accessibility Features
Our platform incorporates the following accessibility features:
- Semantic HTML: We use proper HTML elements and ARIA attributes to ensure content is structured logically for assistive technologies
- Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements, including forms, buttons, navigation menus, and dialogs, are fully operable using a keyboard
- Focus indicators: Visible focus rings are maintained on all interactive elements to support keyboard-only navigation
- Color contrast: Text and interactive elements maintain sufficient color contrast ratios against their backgrounds in accordance with WCAG 2.1 AA standards
- Responsive design: The platform adapts to various screen sizes and devices, supporting text resizing up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
- Alternative text: Images and non-text content include descriptive alternative text where applicable
- Form labels: All form inputs are associated with descriptive labels to assist screen reader users
- Consistent navigation: Navigation patterns are consistent across all pages to reduce cognitive load
- Error identification: Form validation errors are clearly identified and described in text to help users correct their input
Assistive Technology Compatibility
Our platform is designed to be compatible with commonly used assistive technologies, including screen readers (such as NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver), screen magnification software, speech recognition software, and alternative input devices. We test our platform regularly with these technologies to identify and resolve compatibility issues.
Known Limitations
While we strive for full accessibility, some areas of the platform may have limitations:
- Some complex workflow visualizations may not be fully accessible to screen readers; we provide text-based alternatives where possible
- Third-party content or embedded services may not meet the same accessibility standards as our own content
- PDF documents generated by workflows may have varying levels of accessibility; we are working to improve this
We are actively working to address these limitations and improve the overall accessibility of our platform.
Browser and Device Support
For the best accessible experience, we recommend using the latest versions of modern browsers including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, and Microsoft Edge. Our platform is designed to work across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
Feedback and Assistance
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of our platform. If you encounter any accessibility barriers, have difficulty accessing any content, or need information in an alternative format, please contact us through our contact form. We will make reasonable efforts to provide the information you need in an accessible format and to address any accessibility concerns within a reasonable timeframe.
Continuous Improvement
Accessibility is an ongoing commitment. We regularly review and update our platform to improve compliance with accessibility standards. Our development process includes accessibility testing as a standard practice, and we train our team members on accessibility best practices. We are dedicated to making the Diplomatic Initiative Design Studio an inclusive platform for all users engaged in diplomatic program design.
